Snow Fox

The sketch is inspired by a personal experience.

One of my favorite things about snowboarding is the ride up the lift. Besides the obvious views, anticipation, and general good fun in each others company, I look forward to gazing down below me and watching the blank sheen of snow carefully. Every once in awhile I’ll spot exactly what I’m looking for, a slight depression in the snow, marking the path of a silent winter creature. More often than not, our little friend is a rabbit, shadows of each jump and movement clearly visible from our lofty vantage point. I like to spend those few moments when I spot that small trail, imagining I’m down on the slope watching our little friend move effortlessly across the snow.

ThisĀ image is the passing of a silent winter friend.
